Chippenham Town Councillors are going back to school and joining School Councils. The Town Council wants to develop ways of working that enhance its relationship with children and young people within the community area. It was with great honor that we welcomed our Mayor Cllr Sylvia Gibson and her consort Mr Terry Gibson to open our first meeting of the new school year. The Mayor told us about the job of major and invited us to look at her chain of office. The Mayor also told us that anyone could be a mayor who was a Councillor and that she is not allowed in any other town wearing her chain unless she asks for permission.
Wiltshire Equine Assisted Learning based between Melksham and Trowbridge,has been awarded a one year grant from “Awards for All” National Lottery Funding, and together with Chippenham Multi Agency Forum (MAF) they have been offering Chippenham children a unique way to support their learning. Children take part in activities with horses overseen by a qualified facilitator and volunteers to help develop self awareness and also self esteem and confidence. Read more ...
